Thanksgiving 2011

We flew into Jacksonville, Florida on November 23rd and drove to St. Augustine, which is about 45 minutes south.  It is right on the ocean and it is the oldest city in the US.  It is a lovely area.  Everything is within walking distance and there are all kinds of eateries and shops to wander thru.  On our first day, we milled around and checked things out... we found all kinds of neat things to pose next to, like this old anchor.

St. Augustine is known for their Lights at Night Festival... It is beautiful the way they decorate the town with millions of little white lights.

They provide a trolley ride called the Holly Jolly Trolley, where they give you special glasses that turn all of the sparkling lights into snowflakes!  It is a really neat experience!

This is our hotel - The Casa Monica - all lit up

On Thanksgiving, we rented a car and took the boys to Disney World!  They really enjoyed it (and so did we!!)

A friend of mine, made "special" Thanksgiving tshirts for the boys with their names on them for Disney.  The Mickey head was made to look like a turkey.

On Friday, we took the boys to an alligator farm...

On Saturday, we wandered thru the historic parts of St. Augustine and watched a live demonstration of them firing cannons from the fort.
